The above map is a virtual and interactive representation of the Upper Big Branch Miners Memorial. The virtual memorial site provides a bird's eye view of the Miners Memorial, First Responder's Tribute and Interpretive Signage area. Additional images of the memorial can be viewed by clicking the landmarks labeled on the map.

The memorial is located along Coal River Road (WV 3) in Whitesville, approximately five miles from the site of the Upper Big Branch Coal Mine and within the designated National Coal Heritage Area.

The northern and southern ends of the memorial are separated by a green space that provides a scenic view of the historic Big Coal River. The northern end of the memorial site is where the granite Miners Memorial and First Responder's Tribute are located. The Interpretive Signage area and off-street parking are located on the south end. Street parking is also available.

The Upper Big Branch Miners Memorial is open year round. It is handicap accessible from the off-street parking area and from the nearby Veteran's Memorial. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Group and school tours are encouraged and can be scheduled by emailing the Upper Big Branch Mining Memorial Group in advance at ubbminersmemorial@gmail.com.
